RICKARD Astronomist to discuss Halley's Comet The 1985-86 Durham Science Lecture Series will continue on Thursday, November 28, 1985 with featured speaker Dr. C. T. Bolton. Bolton is Professor of Astronomy at the Univer- sity of Toronto, and Associate Director of the David Dunlap Observatory. He will discuss Halley's Com- et. In his talk, Dr. Bolton will present historical observa- tions and ideas about cornets, including their supposed in- fluence on human events, and the space missions to Comet Halley. I hope the Minister will change his mind and authorize the creation of a select committee to look into technology and the workplace. The Minister of Citizenship and Culture bas launched a new volunteer award pro- gram to say a public thank you to the many hardworking Ontario volunteers, organiza- tions and businesses who have helped to enrich the lives of their communities and fellow citizens. Nominations for the volunteer service awards and forms may be ob- tained by contacting Marilyn Branch who is the Co- ordinator of the program at 416 (965-7505). There is a deadline of mid-December so those interested in nominating eligible volunteers should ensure their forms are submitted in time. tions.
