This time Orono h.eld their own andI played aer ven and fast paced game only to yield to the Oakwood team 2-1 in the last 28 seconds of the game as they scored beating goalie Jarrett Aus on a screened shot from 20 feet out. Orono's Dan Walters opened the scoring in the first period assisted by John But- tîgieg. Orono held Oakwood at bay until the midwav mark of -the third period wheni Oakwood tied the score at one. The Orono team looked very impressive in their rematch with this team. On November 29th the Commodores took on the Sunderland teamn and came out on top with a 7-0 win. Goalie Jarrett Aus made some excellent stops in the early going of the first period until his teammates found their legs and took over vîr- tually keeping the play in the Sunderland zone for the rest of the game. Five minutes into the game Chris Yeo scored the only goal of the first period assisted by Neil Haines. Orono put home 3 goals in the second period, the first by Greg Hooper from. Chris Yeo; then Chris Yeo from Greg Hooper and Shane Jones; and Ryan Rock from Jean-Paul Tousignant and Shane Gylytiuk. Orono Kinsmen'PeeWees find opposition On Tuesday, Novemnber 19, the Orono Kinsmen Peewees travelled to Lakefield. In the first two periods play was very close but Lakefield scored an unanswered goal in each period. In the third period Orono again tried very hard to score but Lakefield managed to score three times. Final score Lakefield 5 - Orono 0. On Friday, November 21, Orono Kinsmen hosted En- nismore. Play was very close in the first two, periods although Ennismore scored once in each period. Early in the third period Jason Bur- nhamn scored assisted by Chris Yeo. Craig Lockhart opened; the scoring for Newcastle at '3:45 of the first period. Orono tied the gamne four minutes later when Cameron Esler and Brent Gates assisted on a nîce goal by Stephen Stadelmann. Stephen scored early in the second period to put Orono into the lead 2-1. Jim Partner assisted on the play. With 5:15 showing on the dlock Dustin Reid made it 3-1 when he poked in a rebound from a shot by Tyler Adey. A minute later Tyler got a goal assisted by Dustîn to push Orono ahead 4-1. When BratI Min- nis let fly with a low slapshot, 10 seconds before the end of the second period, Cameron Esler deflected the puck into the Newcastle net. Orono really played hard in the third period but were unable to increase their leatI. The Orono boys pass- ed the puck well and won wvithi a lot of team work. Final score of the game was Orono 5 - Newcastle 1. Orono's record is now 8 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties in league play. On Saturday night Orono hosted the Oshawa tNt-IL Canadiens who had wiped out Orono last week by a score of 9-3. The local boys dropped behind 1 -0 at 2: 11 of the first period but were very deter- mined to fight back with some hard skating and pass- ing. It paid off when Adam Stephenson kept the puck in at the blueline and passed to Stephen Stadelmann to tie the gamne 1-1 at 7:40. Oshawa were frustrated many times as Orono broke up their attack and kept them off the score sheet in the se- cond period until the 1:00 mark. The local boys had some good chances and on one occasion in the third pe riod wvhen it looked like they had tied the game but the whistle had been blown by the referee when he lost sight'of the puck on a goal mouth scramble. Oshawa ad- ded another goal to make it 3-1 late in the game. Orono played a very strong game but went down to defeat for the second time against the Cana- diens (Little N.H.L. version that is!)
