Aldrîdge Fire Chief Record placement for Durham Grads Durham College reports an aIl- timne record in its placement of 1985 graduates. Approximatety 95% of the 1985 graduates have obtained employ- ment, and 83% of the placements were in jobs related io a College course of study. This represents a 5IVo improvemnent over the situation ex- isting at this time last year. A divisional breakdown in regard to placement for the 1985 graduates shows that 92% of Applied Arts students, 95% of Business students, 95ù7 of Technology students, and 95% of Health Science students have obtaîned employînent. Herb Kirkconnell, Director of Stu- dent Affairs, compliments the Place- ment Officer, Les Lear, and his staff for their excellent achievement. Mr. Kirkconnell said that during the past year, the College has increas- ed its, promotion of graduates to in- dustry and has'provided additional in-class time for students concerning the job-search process. He acknowledged the fine effort Of faculty members in helping graduates find jobs, and stated that excellent in- itiative has been shown by the graduates in "marketing" thernselves to prospective emplovers. Met Garland, Durham College President, is very pleased with the 1985 placement record, and em- phasizes Ithat the successful place- ment is due in no small part to the reputation of our previous graduates, and their achievements in industry.
