CHOICES In every circumstance that comes along, everyday, actually, everything we do we must have a choice. In the morning we must choose to either get out of bed and get going or stay there. Our choices can be either good for us or bad for us. If we have a job and we choose to stay in bed several mornings and we are late for work we soon won't have a job because we are not reliable. On the other hand getting up and getting to work a few minutes earlier, ready to face the days challenges looks mighty good to your boss. If he sees that you are ambitious and eager to do whatever he asks, promotions are in store for you. Choices can be fun and ex- citing, dull and mundane. You can choose to be happy or grumpy, even if your body is not being co- operative (not feeling well) or your family is grumpy. (Try choosing to be happy and you'll see it soon reverses the other party). The bible has lots to say about choosing. In Deuteronomy 31:19-20 Orono Credit Union (Continued from page 8) Board of Directors that the amend- ment to amend the by-laws, Loans Paragraph 10.03. Motion by R. Loucks, Chairman called for a motion from floor that Mr. Jim Teefy be our delegate at the Annual League Meeting. Moved by H. Robinson, seconded by F. Forget. Carried. Mr. Teefy responded that he would be pleased to be our delegate at the League Meeting and was grateful for the opportunity to attend this meeting and see a suc- cessful Credit Union in 1989 and wished all the best again in 1990. Election of Officers was con- God tells us that, He has set before us life and death, blessing and curs- ing, therefore CHOOSE life, that both we and our children may live. That we may love the Lord our God, and obey His voice, and hold on tight to Him, for He is our life, and the length of our days that we live here on earth. God tells us in verse 20 that He is our life, and in verse 19 He says we have to CHOOSE life or death, blessings or curses. I'm sure glad I chose life back in 1976. It was then that I chose Jesus to come into my life and by doing that I chose life and blessings. God created us to be able to choose. We have a will and that's what enables us to choose. Good or bad we make the choice. We can't blame anyone but ourselves for the choices we make in life. So choose life and blessings it's a lot easier to live with. Questions or Comments? In open- ing, he expressed that our Credit Union has had a very successful year compared to many other Credit Unions in our area and that all Officers and Directors have done and excellent job for the member- ship. Presented for nominations to the Board of Directors were Joan Mur- phy and Harvey Robinson who had completed their three year term and Mary Clapdorp, retired Treasurer- Manager and wished to stay on with the Credit Union. No further nominations heard from the floor, nominations closed. For the Credit Committee, Vic Snider has com- pleted his three year term and is will- ing to be re-elected. No further nominations from the floor, nominations closed. Supervisory Committee member, Rose Mary Hartwig had completed her three year term and would rerun. No further nominations from the floor, nominations closed. All positions on the Board of Directors filled by the above elections. P. Loucks,' Chairman, due to the absence of our President, H. Browes and our Vice-President, J. Colville, expressed that we will con- tinue to give the Credit Union members the best service as in the past but we the members must keep in mind that we are bound to the restrictions set down by the Ministry of Financial Institutions. We still want to maintain that close personal family Credit Union that we all know and enjoy the benefits of its operation. At this time he in- troduced our new Treasurer- Manager in the Orono office, JoAnne Ross and the new Assistant-Manager, Mary Lou Townsley, in Bowmanville office. Director, L. Werry expressed that she hoped that they would feel a part of our Family Credit Union as she had during her years as Treasurer-Manager. A presentation was made to retiring Mary Clapdorp by Joan Murphy, a bouquet of roses and an appreciation cer- tificate. Mary responded that she had enjoyed working with the peo- ple and will miss the contact but is glad to be remaining on the Board of Directors of the Credit Union. Mary Clapdorp introduced the entertainment for the evening. It was a last minute change due to il- iness on the part of the booked entertainer, but "Two for the Road" filled the booking with their musicial talents and the young and old enjoyed their toe-tapping songs and tunes. A great last minute stand-in was appreciated and cer- tainly pleasing. Door prize draws and winners: Curvply Wood Pro- ducts/Plydesigns - C. Martin; St..
