4-Orono Weekly Timies, Wednesday, March 21, 1990 SPOR TS Orono Tyke Hockey news report On Saturday, March 10,' the Orono Custom Framing Tykes played host to Bowmanville I.D.A. Drugs and were defeated by a 4-1 score. Bowmanville got the lead early in the first period, and then scored again late in the first for a 2-0 lead. The scoring chances in the second period were numerous by both teams, but once again Bowmanville scored the only goal to end the second period with a 3-0 lead. In the third period Bowman- ville scored early to make the score 4-0. But Orono didn't quit and kept pressing the Bowmanville team, which finally paid off with a late goal scored by JamnieParry assisted by Brandon His and Christopher Bouley. The final score ended up 4-1 for Bowmanville. Dave, Lam- mers palyed a strong gamne in goal for Orono making some key stops to keep the game close. Orono Custom Framing Tykes defeat Bewdley On Sunday, March 18, 1990 Orono, J & M Custom Framing Tykes travelled to Bewdley and sou ndly defeated their hosts 15 to 0. Orono came out flying and con- tinued to skate hard right tilI the end of the game. After a slow start Orono charged back in the last 2 periods to make the game close. But it was a case of to, little to late and Orono lost 5-4. On Saturday, March 17, 1990 the Orono first year players played a team from Blackstock. The Orono players came out fired up and con- tinued their strong play right through the entire game. In the second year of the contract, the- teachers will receive of 5.25 percent increase in September 1990, followed by a 1.25 percent increase in February 1991.
