This is the first com- petitive swim meet we ai NEWAC have hosted. There were three visiting teams. There are two levels of the swimming members; Level 1 and 2. Newcastle 100 Swim Meet was held for the L-evel 2 swmmers. Two swimmers from Orono were Adele and Diane Jenkins. Both swimmers swam extremely welI and won the following ribbons: Adele Jenkinis competed in the 8 years anid under group placed: Ist in 100m Freestyle; lst in 200m Medley Relay; 2nd in 50m Breast Stroke; 2nd in 100m Backstroke; 3rd in 50m Butterfly; 4th in 400m Freestyle Relay and 4th in 10im In- dividual Medley. Diane Jenkins competed in the 9/10 year olds group she placed: 2nd in loum Backstroke; 2nd in 200m Medley Relay; 3rd in 50m But- terfly; 4th in 100m Freestyle; 4th in 400m Freestyle Relay and 5th in 100m Breast Stroke. The NEWAC organizers wouldlike, to thank the Village Bakeshop, The Apple Blossom Shop, Stutt's Pharmacy, Not Just Fashions,, Deb's Fashions and Rolph's Hardware, for their donations of gong prizes, for the races. The prizes were greatly appreciated. Orono has six members on the teamn who are Adele and Diane Jenkins, Tracy and Tara Arnott, Caria Werry and Ashley Burnham.
