Ridge Kinsmen Bike-A-Thon held Taking part in Mini Tractor Pull by Rev. Marg West Prayer Will Move Mountains If You Believe "Prayer is a solemn address to the Supreme Being (God), act of praying, an earnest entreaty. En- treaty is petition request, plea." (Websters) We have the authority in Jesus' name to get answers to all our prayers. Psalm 5:3 "David is telling God that He will hear David's voice in the morning, and that he's going to direct his prayers to God." He's going to pray in the morning when he gets up. Do we pray early in the morning? Do we even think of God at all in the morning? Maybe before noon maybe not. Do we think about God at all the whole day? Do we consider God the whole week? Maybe it's been months since you've thought about God. He'd like to hear from you. He's never to busy to listen to your concerns or problems. David knew he would get answers to his cries, do we know we will? Do we as Christians have that much trust in God that we know that He will answer our prayers. All through the Psalms, David cried out to God to help him. Even though David got himself into a lot of problems. God said he was a man after His own heart. Maybe David didn't get himself all tied up in his ability like most people do and he was humble in God's sight. He wasn't ashamed to cry out to God for help when he needed it. We should strive to be more like David was in his prayer life. God wants to answer every prayer we have, but we need to realize that and believe God. John 16:24 says, "That up until now ye have asked (prayed for) nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive that your joy may be full." Even if we have not prayed at all God is telling us to ask and you will receive." So we will have joy in our life at receiving answers to our prayers. James 4:3 tells us why we don't get answers when we pray. "You ask and receive not, because you ask wrong (your motives aren't right). That you may consume it upon your lusts." We don't receive when we have the wrong motives. If our motives are right and in line with what God's word says we'll receive every time. So read your Bible and learn God's word, when you pray you'll receive answers to every prayer you pray. Comments or Questions? Write Box 179, Orono.
