A local script written by local playwrights, (Lynn Stoutenburg) with collaboration with Rev. David Montgomery , pastor of the Anglican Parish of Manvers presented by a local cast many from the Orono area who have been members of the Clarke High School dramna circle headed up by John Amesbury. The stories of Genesis were presented outside and inside an im- aginative replica of the Noah's Ark with Ezra (David Montgomery) outlining for his audience the events of those beginning years. A greater intimacy was created between the audience and the actors when the audience was invited to be seated inside Noah's Ark. It was here that Adamn (Jeff Westbrook, formerly of Orono) gave an impressive performance along with Eve (Jackie Ellis) of the beginning of man on this universe. .Adam's awakening to the world around him was well portrayed by Westbrook as for the first time he met the snake, the bird, the dog, the elephant, the monkey. He held his audience in the pahm of his hand. And like Westbrook, Jackie Ellis, Eve, gave great support as the storyof the beginning of man un- folded before a somewhat speil- bound audience. Adam and Eve set the tempo for God's words te Noah te build the ever famous Ark bringing the ar- rivai of Noah (John Amesbury) and Abigail (Marg Goodwin) to centre stage. Like Adam and Eve the flurry of activity with the building of the Ark and the housing of all the animais was entertaining theatre at the Bethany Outdoor Theatre. The story theme was easy to, follow and well presented throughout providing fine enter- tainment for the evening. The Bethany Outdoor Theatre group areto be congratulated for their efforts of providing calibre theatre for the area. An entertaining event despite the slight chill of the late evening breezes and the attacks of mos- quitos which fortunately was offset hy the distribution of bug-off soak- ed wipes.
