Medd, Prin- cipal of the Pines Senior Public School, in bis opening remarksý, praisied the students for their dedication in acbieving their goals< during the school year. Greetings from the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education were coniveyed to ail present by Mm. C. Keninedy, Area Superintendent. -Ail of the 138 students were presented their graduation diplomas individually, to warm rounds of applause. The Valedictory Trophy was Member's Junior Open was held at the Newcastle Golf Course on June 29th with 18 Junior teeing off even thougb it was raining. Age Group of 16 to 18 year olds -Ken Bloomfield with 96; Marc Jackson with 99; Carl Brown with 110 and Brad Turk with 112. Age Group of 14 and 15 year olds - Trevor Lomax with ý7; Shawn Stephenson, Matt Yeo and Scott Hentig each with 96; Mike Stacey with 97; Grason Martin with 98; Scott Anderson with 102, Adam Stephenson with 119; Derek Honeyman with 121 and Steven Marmara with 111 presented to Jennifer Chaffey by Mr. W. Carman, Board Trustee. Miss Chaffey, who originally hails from Newfoundland, gave hope to ail parents in her Valèdictory Ad- dress, by saying, that the end of their commitment to the education of their chiidren was indeed in ail of their efforts during the past year, on behaif of ail the graduates. Jen- nifer added, that she, along with al the ot her graduates, would have fond memories of the Pines Public School, for the rest of their lives. At the conclusion of the presen- tations, refreshments, provided_ by the parents of the graduates, were served in the Pines Public School, were. congratulations were made and shared, in an informaI at- mosphere. The evening ended with the graduates enjoying a post gradua- tion dance held at the school, to the accompaniment of modern music.
