The department director, Jane Lunn, said she knrows of no com- plaints about the lack of lifeguards at Port Hope beaches. Ron Smith, a member of the parks and recreation committee, said there hasn't been lifeguards on Port Hope beaches as lon g as he can remember. Students help at forest centre The Ganaraska Region Conser- vation Authority has hired two tujdenits to undertake projects and studies associated with the Ganaraska Forest and the Ganaraska Forest Centre.* The pro- gram provides funding for the pro- jects that help preserve the pro- vince's natural resources and allows young people an opportunity to develop practical environmental skills. The wages and benefits-of the students are funded 100 per *cent by the government and lasts about 14 weeks. New AIDS network Stating September, the Peter- borough AIDS Resource Network will work in conjunction wth the ight scripture presentation.
