Every year about thiis time, wben most of the rushing about in every direction slows down, a new year seems to slip in just as quietly as the old slips away. We do ask ourselves, "Wbere bas ail tie ime goneT' Pondering 1990 and Newtonville Alive, 1 sec you and 1 bave chatted about and looked wt many-different goings on. We've been intimate about funerals, wakes, memnorials and loosing someone dear, and the very essence of life. We bave been lucky enougb to leam'about some pretty terrific kids and thought about being a teenager and the pressures tbat corne witb that territory. There were complimenting visitors.from everywhere. Some we met were from Ireland, Quebec and Russia. My skin crawled and blood boiled on a more personal level wben the subjects of politics, religion, immigration and discrimination came up.' The environment and its potential losses became and remains. a top-of-the-list concem. And yes, we bave weatbered storns of all sorts - not necessarily in going witb the particular season. 1And possibly die most significant event in our com munity was that Town water arrived - safe water and plenty for ail.
