If you have paid RST on top of GSI, you may receive a refund from your retailer. The following changes becamne effective January 1, 1991: a To offset some of the costs incurred by vendors as a result of the GST, the Ontario governiment is increasing the amount of compen- sation to vendors for the collection and rernittance of RST. 0 The RST audit and refund period has been increased from three to four years. *The ref und of RST on goods taken out of Ontario by tourists and on transient accommodation will be arnended.
