Three deer carcasses were found in Moffatt's home with another in an abandoned truck in which he had attempted an escape. Besides the $8,000 fmne Moffatt also had this truck seized. Fni. 6:30 a.m. 0 p.m. Sunday CI 983-310 8:0p.m. Sinice tbe last update Orono's Novice hockey team bas been plagued by a variety of ilînesses. Tbey bave therefore played short- handed for many gaines. On December 28th the teain played against their dads. It was a close game and no officiaI score was kept, but all wbo were there had a good tinie. The only penalty of the gaine was to Coachi Garlick for holding or should 1 say literally picking up one of the boys. Our next league gamne was, played the following evening in Lindsay. Althougli short-banded die two lines played very liard. The only goals of the gamne were scored by Andrew Reid and Andrew Beacock. A very strong defensive game was played by Corey Tufts and Michael Garlick. Jamie Parry donned tbe pads for the teain tbis niglit and closed down the Lindsay offence recording a shut out. One January 4th the L.N.H.L. Oilers came to Orono for an exhibition gaine. The boys played hard but fell to the Qilers 6-3. Orono goals were scored by Kyle, Beacock, Andrew Reid, and Bobby Witberidge. On January 6th our boys went to Manvers. Their strong team put4 pucks past a recovering Michael Gibson. Orono responded only once late in the third period with a goal from Captain Andrew Reid, assisted by Clint Hawksbaw anid Greg Shetler. January 13th the teain went to Millbrook with only 10 players. Millbrook took advantage of tbe opportunity and sbut our boys out 14-O. Orono hosted Bobcaygeon on January l8th for an exhibition game. The gaine ended in a 1-1 tic. Michael Gibson played a strong gaine in net and Orono's goal was scored' unassisted by Tyler Robinson. On January 19th the team entered a one day tournament in Warkworth. Everyone met the team bus before dawn, and despite the directional assistance of John Witberidge and my driving we ail arrived safely. Our first game was against Warkworth who out powered our boys 10-2. Both our goals were scored by Andrew Reid. Our second game was against Campbellford. It was a close and exciting gamne and botb goalies played well, but our teain feIl 2-0 by the end. Our regular season is now over, with the exception of two make up gaines. Playoffs will begin soon.
