Walk-A-Block plan for Participation Day challenge The Town this year is supporting a proposai from the Community Services department of WaIk-A- Block for the annual Par ticipation Challenge Day, May 29th. The Town is calling for ahl staff, members of council and the general public to become involved in the organized event. The Walk is to take place from 11:30 to 11:45 in downtown Bowmanville. Stîli pro blems wîth Courtîce Water Supplyr The Town has again been asked to help with the extension of water service to a number of homes in the Courtice area. It has been pointed out that ini most cases the private water supply is unfit for human consumption and that bottled water has to be purchased. Counc. Hannah said that some temporary relief is being planned as soon as the-weatlter warmns up. Counc. Hanire said that it was time that the urban area representatives on Regional council became aware that this is a major problem throughout the rural areas. "We have to be more forceful ini our actions," she said. One delegation at council called for an extension of the Courtice water area system to provide safe water mn some 35 homes. She said, at the present time, waterservice was most important and possibly there was no need at the present tme to extend the sewer lines.
