Five primary schools (Kirby, Orono, St. Francis of Assisi,. Newcastle and Newtonville) will be taking part. The main purpose of the event, is ta promote bicycle safety. ail entrants must go through a bicycle safety inspection, try their abilities on a skill testing course, then enter onto the Bike-a-thon track which is laid out on the tie students will drive around (for a maximum 100 laps) ta generate money from the pledges they have collected. Seventy-five per cent of the proceeds will be returned ta the student's respected schools for them to use as they see fît. The preseniation was miade ta Mrs. Chis Kooy, director of Nursinig at Memnorial Hospital. Earlier i the day the medical staff at Memorial had presenteci ailthei nurses wih a corsage.
