Book Sa le at Clarke Museum The Clarke Museum and Archives is holding a giant second- hand book sale in June. Durhamn Outside workers vote to strike Outside workers at Durham Region have voted 92 per cent in favour of a strike if necessary. Outside workers at the region look after roads, sewers, water treatment and sewage treatment plants as well as recycling depots. The 340 workers are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. CUPE representative John Cherry said outstanding issues in the talks include wages and benefits. Regional spokesman Terry Stevens said that Durham wants to be fair and competitive in negotiations with its workers. But he said its important to realize that it's a tough financial year for the region.
