She was also involved with the St. Francis P.T.A., as well as coaching the girls Novice baseball team tbis vear. Children NIcole, Kim and Christopher Wëre involved in tennis, hockey, 1aseball, figure skating, Brownies and Guides. "We wish you ai! of lifes best!" -by Peggy Mullan Demolîtion at1 By Nelson Hudes Mosport International Speedway continued its exciting weekly stock car action with a special added feature this weekend, a Demolfition Derby., ' As always, the speedway thrives on presenting different and unique twists to its regular weekly racing and this weekend was no exception as this special event was a big bit with the fans. -Driving #55, Ed Fracz of Bowmanville stole the show and won the derby, wbile the, cheering fans applauded him in appreciation. He took his victory lap around the track style smùimg proudly after bis bard fought win. With tbis feature being so popular, Mosport International Speedway will likely stage it again later this season. The Street Stock, Sportsman, and Late Model classes provided some different second and third place fmnishers this week. Mosport Track As usual, Andy Warbutton of Oshawa didn't disappoint his loyal fans as he won a Street Stock heat and the feature. Following bini in the feature was Dave Lee of Nestleton and in third was Bob Kish of Oshawa. In Sportsman, Ken Donaldson of Sharron won mhe feuture, followed by Daryl Leatherdale of Blackstock and Merv Watt of Sbanty Bay. Walt also won the fourmh Sportsman beat earlier in the evening and it was bis first victory since returning to racing (after a ten year absence) a year and a half ago when Mosport International Speedway started operations. . I Late Model, Tom Milligan of Newmarket beat out Joe Dilecce of Richmond Hill, who was followed by Rudy Oppersma of Wbitby. Next weekend is Fan Appreciation Night. AIl spectators are reminded to bring their cameras and autograph books. Foruàr Orono Town Hallers It Was "Another Week"' - ",Another Victory" The teamn played two games this week and ended up with a Split. They lost Monday on a road trip to a very good pitcher and won at home with a good pitching performance by Kyle Montgomery. The Town Hallers travelled to Memorial Park i Bowmanville on Monday and once again met mheir strong pitcher. The game started with a walk to Alan Lee and a single by this weeks Player of the Week, Paul Dreslinski, to score a run right off the bat. This was one of two hits for Paul. He also made a very nice catch in center field. But two strike outs and the inning was over. This was the only run the boys would get as mhey were struck- out thirteen more times before the end of die game. Kyle Montgomery this weeks runner up for Player of the Week pitched very well but tired after foui innings and mhe bull pen couldn't hold mhe score down. The scheme is being assisted by Ontario Hydro. The water heater is inspected, the elements, fuses, connections and minor plumbing connections are also included initme check-up. Kyle started the game with two walks and three strike-outs. When oui teamn came to plate they greeted the visiting pitcher with a five run outburst. Everyone seemed ready to play, Corey Stapleton and Chris Anderson made spectacular catches in the outfield. Alan Lee got his first ht of the campaign and Jeff Finlay added to his teamn leading walk total by getting on base three times via the free pass. Greg Bull, Deepak Angl and Jamie Kent contributed with solid infield plays. Matt Black again handled the pitchers and throws to the bases with much more confidence. Paul Dreslinski was told he needed more practice on Wednesday before he could pitch but was pressed into action as Kyle started to tire after eight innings work this week. With the help of his inifielders who picked off two runiners, and a strike-out Paul cemiented the wýAin for the home team.
