On this occasion, the 4-H memnbers were asked to evaluate dairy anti beef cattle, comnposters, grain and sheep. Members were also asked to identify tractor parts, common weeds, seeds, fertilizer compontents, conservation symibois teams within the Town of Newcastle have the opportunity to play ball throughout the sunimer, into September. T.O.N.B.A. encompasses tennis from Orono, Bowmianvilie, Newcastle Village, Courtice and thereabouts, with boys from ages 5 through 21, starting with the litte guys and Junior T-Bail, to Sr. T.- Bail, Tyke, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget, Juvenile asd Junior. It also includes a rep division within the Eastern Ontario andi safety symbols. In addition to the prize money donatedby Weicomte Feetis, at a later date Scott Nesbitt, Nestleton, will receive the C.N.E. Shielti, Gena Jaspers-Fayer-, R. R. 4, Bowmaniville, will receive the Royal Bank Award, and Eric Barkey wili receive the 1. B. Eils Memorial Trophy, sponsoreti by the Bowmanville Lions Club, for placing first in their age category. The Durham Region Federation of Agriculture Award for the top team. wiil go to the Senior Dairy Club team of Kathryn Barkey, R. R. 2, Blackstock, Tom Tamblyn, Orono and Tom Benschop, R. R. 4, Bowmanville. Basebaîl Association, covering seven teains, including Kendal. T.O.N.B.A. President Terry Donohue and V.P. Part of a teamr off to Central Africa Angus Read, Mayor of Cobourg is off on a two week exchange prograrn to Centrai Afica, MIzuzu, Malawi, along with two other representativesfrom Cobourg. The program is financed by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Canadian International Development Agency. Read heads a group of five municipalities that are visiting Central Africa this month. Each group wili go its own way once they arrive at their initial destination.
