Wood, of Orono, took place at their home on Saturday, July 3th. The couple both in their 86th year, celebrated this anniversary with high spirits and general good health. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. McLaren and Don are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Clarke and family at their summer cottage near Prescott. Archie, who had been visitimg at Prescott, returned home on Monday. Misses Jean, Betty and Ruth Bullock have returned from a two week vacation at Peterborough and Warsaw. Baby Dianne Tamnblyn, who bas been visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Tamblyn for two weeks, has returned home to Belleville. Misses Nancy and Carol Hancock have returned home after spending a week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Waddell, Bethany. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bryson and Jack, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. V. Cooper spent Sunday with friends at Coe Hill, and also called at Birchcliffe Lodge at Apsley. The Orono Junior Orphans Junior O.H.A. hockey champions are back at it again, but this time in softball. They are going to Hastings on Tuesday evening to start their playoffs for the Eastern Ontario Championship and they are hoping a good crowd will follow them down. Dr. and Mrs. A. F. McKenzie and family and Mr. and'Mrs. Gordon Watson have returned home after holidaying by boat on the Rideau River. Mr. and Mrs. Virle Wilson and family were holiday visitors recently at the homne of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Ransberry in Montreal. Mrs. Howard Walsh bas returned from a short visit in Toronto and while there attended the Hamili family reunion at Markham. A large number from Orono and district took in the Reforestation tour on Wednesday afternoon and also attended the banquet in the Town Hall in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. W. Thurston, of Bobcaygeon, were in town Saturday evening . Mrs. Thurston formerly was Lenora Cornish, daughter of Mr., and Mrs. Fred Cornish, sixth line. Miss E. Rutherford is on a motor trip to New, York and will take in the World's Fair. A new set of moving pictures h1as been taken of the residents of Newcastle and others. Rutherford and Paul had an, enjoyable trip last week to Barcovan Beach and spent the day with relatives in Ottawa. An estimated crowd of from 2,000 to 2,500 attended Orono Street Fair on Wednesday, threatening weather kept some home. Mrs. M. A. Burne, Orono won 3rd prize, bicycle, i the Fair' draw, and Miss Jean Logan won. 4th prize, pair of pigs. Mr. Allison Cowan, of Toronto, is spending his holidays with his parents, Mr. and -Mrs. Thos.
