Marg West Do we speak graciously and in love? Do we speak in LUne with the Word of God? Or do we speak like a bush logger? I'm speaking mainiy to the femnale species this week because of a situation mhat occurred to me on Thursday. 1 had been in Oshawa and was on my way home, the traffic was ramher busy and as 1 passed Ritson Road, a femnale (l amn calting her mhis because she was anything but a lady) pulled up beside me and started yelling at me to let her in mhe line I was in. As 1 continued to proceedin traffic she then started yelling obscenities at me. As she pulled in behind me she started giving me hand signs. This female was young enough to be my daughter. 1 would have liked to stop my truck get out and slap her face. 1 was realiy upset to think that someone mhat young would be mhat ignorant. Where is the respect for our elders mhat was in effect only a few short years ago. The younger generation (flot ail of them) have lost values that are a necessary part of survival in this worid. Morals, respect for eIders, Respect for God. Proverbs 29:2 says, "that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourf." We cari see in our land today rules mhat miake mhe people moumn. For instance miles that gîve children more authority than parents. It's parents who are supposed to be in authority in the home, flot children. Momiers are to be an example to their children. It's flot much of an example to yeli and curse and act like a logger. Mothers should be loving affectionate, guiding, sirong in discipline, flot allowing the children to mile the househoid. Proverbs 22:6 gives us the answer to disobedient children who gro w up to be disobedient adults, "Train up a child in a way he should go; and when he is oid (or older than a child) he will flot depart from it." There is oniy one way a child should be trainied and mat's in mhe way of the Lord. Comments or Questions, write Box 179, Orono.
