The largest savings have been in lightîng, at 33 MW. Savings occur when Ontarians replace a light- bulb, a motor, or some other electrical device with one that STAFFO ËD MONUMENTS 143 King St. E. 'Hey neighbor' covers 40 products The 'Hey Neighbor, Be a Power Saver" camnpaign was launched in September, as part of Ontario Hydro's continuing efforts to malce it easy for people to cut down on their use of electricity. Flyers announcing discounts on 40 different energy-saving products for the home were distributed to more dma 3.5 million homes. Discounts were available in more than 2,300 stores across Ontario to the end of October. Hydro hopes customer participation in "Hey Neighbor" alone was highi eniough to shave to three megawatts off demiand. This would equal the needs of a commrunity of 1,000 to 2,000. Consumption down slightly Electricity consumption in September was just over 10.4 million megawatt-hours , up 3.3% over September 1990. Total for the year to September 30 is just over 102 million MWHrs., about 0.2 per cent below last year's, total for the same period.
