Kathy Guselle, chairman of SAGA, pointed out that the province would be releasing ant interim framnework for watershed planning. It was stated that SAGA would be organizing an information meeting t which would be expert speakers. Guselle said she was aware of the time element available to the Town but would hope that they could attend the meeting and would explore ways in which this approach (watershed planning) could be integrated into the Newcastle Officiai Plan. Guselle spoke of the need for such a watershed plan stating that such a plan would determine the sustainable development capacity of the watershed and allocate a capacity among the developable properties. It was flirther pointed Dut that the Town's Officiai Town's process does coincide with the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority's review of its mission and mandate. She asked that the Town consider excellerating the process and that it be completed ini ess than a four year period. She also asked that economic development be given a high priority in the process and spoke Of the need of industriai development. Hînkley questioned if the process would in anyway slowdown the process for approval of the proposed Retirement Complex at Wilmot C reek. She said there was a need that this project get Y WC.A. has programs for fttness enthusLas ts suggestions this matter it was stated that the officiai plan process would not hinder handling of the Retirement Complex being proposed. The director also had concems as to the Crombie waterfront trait and suggested that it pass to the back of the Wilmot Creek property rather than aiong the lakefront. It was also xiotecj that Wilmot Creek was to be designated an urban area and questioned if this might flot resuit in the loss of the rural rate assistance programn which they now enjoyed ut Wilmot Creek.
