In the first gamne Friday, December 3th, Sunderland was i town and they went home widh a 2- 0 victory over our boys. Sunderland struck with one goal i the first and netted their second goal in the second period. Orono penalties went to Corey Tufts in the first period for roughing and to Brandon- Caruana in the third for unsportsman like conduct. 1On Friday, December 27th, the Oshawa Flames (L.N.H.L.) team was in Orono for an exhibition game. Orono came out 5-1 winners In this one. Orono started the scoring with a nice unassisted goal by Andrew Beacock but Oshawa came back to tie the score at one before the period ended. Orono struck twice i the second period. First it was Greg Shetler from Jeff Thompson and Brandon I-lîs. Greg scored the second as well with help from Jeff. I the third period Greg contiued doig tme Oronoscoring with one assisted by Mike Garlick on tu score two more unanswered goals. The first was fromn Greg Shetler, assisted by Jeff Thompson; the second again by Greg Shetler, again assisted by Jeff Thompson and Mike Garlick. The teams traded g.ýaIs in the second period. The boys were excited to get on the ice against their fatbers, uncles and even some grandfathers andi frientis. Some of the men were dressed in costumes. Gooti try boys andi better luck next time. Orono Tykes BI ue vs Red On Decemnber 27th the Orono Tykes played each other for another re-match. It was early in the.first period when Glencoe Hogle scored an unassisted goal to geî the Blues on the scoreboard. Later in the tbird period Kyle Moore assisteti by Jordan Beacock got the Orono Retis on the scoreboard. Minutes later Curtis Robinson scored unassisled for the Orono Blues. To end the first period Malt Caruana assisteti by Bryan Bickell scored 10, give Orono Blues the lead 4- 1. To start the second period off Curtis Robison, assisîed by Mat Caruana and Bryan Bickell scoreti for mhe Orono Blues. Moments later Matt Carjxana scored an unassisteti goal. But with the Orono Reds not totally givig up Lee Allin got bis first goal of the season, with Michael Gray andi Kyle Moore getting assists. Orono Tykes Red Team m eet Newcastle Tykes twice over Christmas Break by Doug Gray On Monday, December 30th the Orono Tykes Red Hockey Team hosted the Newcastle Tyke team and played t0 a nail biting 2 al l ie. The first period saw no goals scoreti againsî eîher Orono's Maîthewv Gregg or Newcastle's Ryan Frank. Oronos Scott Wood opened the scoring for the gamne in the second period with bis unassisteti shot at 12:12. It was answered with an uuassisted goal by Newcasîle's Zachery Ibboîson at 9:20. Newcastles Tyson Gimnblett broke the 1 ai dead lock with bis goal ... 1 minute and 41 seconds into the mhird period.
