It was a place full of dreams and promise.. . Jamie and Linda Strachan moved to Newtonville almost two years ago. They were settling in wonderfully, particularly witb the heip of terrific neighbours they found on either sides. Fire took ils rage tbrougb Iis home at 4449 Hwy. 2 in Newtonville, Friday morning, January 24, destroying everytbing inside. Not even their daugbter Hieather's teddy bear was left. The family had be-en out just a couple of hours, wben the fire, electricaily based, started. It wasn't long before Al was lost. When Linda came home to the aftermath, she was devastated, waiking into what was once their home, was now a nightmare of rubble and smoke. The Strachans are staying temporarily with Jamie's parents in Ajax. They don't know wbat the next step will be. Tbey are trying to deal with the sbock. Neigbbours of Jamie's and Linda bave decided to act on their own compassion and see what they can do for the couple. They ask for support; support of any kind.
