B. Rutherford Woods Walk Park west of the Orono business section aiong the Orono Creek Valley. Long list of waste sites soon to be made public Within the next month it is expected that the province's Interim Waste Authority will announce a lonig-list of suggested location for a landfill site within the Regioni of Durham. Such a list was expected last year buit due to problems with legisiation the announcemenit hadi been set-over until this coming month. The long list of possible sites will include fromn 10 to 20 sites, from across die Region. There is somne speculation by local politicians that a final site may b near somne of the urban areas in what is being called a urban shadow. Views see the nedfor sanitary sewers to landfill sites and the need to reduce transportation cosns. There is no doubt that the long list will cause much discussion throughiout the area. Later in the year the list of choices is expected to be reduced to from 5 to 10 from which a final site will be chosen somnetime this commig year.
