He spoke of a story having conflict - desire - and more, leading up to a resolution. Students learned of igniting the Little Scoops ... - Super Job! A Hug can say, "I love you so," or "Gee I hate to see you go." A hug is "Welcome back again!" And, "Great lin see you!, or Where've you beený?" A hug can soothe a srnall child's pain And bring a rainbow after rain. The hug! There's just no doubt about it, We scarcely could survive without it. Chrîstian Corner bRev. Marg West You Have What You Say We have looked at this topie before but I believe it neceds to be looked at agai n. It seemed to have corne to my attention this week that we don't always speak words that are life to ourselves' and others. I know it seerns strange to speak things out loud to yourseif, (most people would want to send for the people who would put you in wrap and cart- you away) however, we see many Urnes in the Bible that we are to say, which of course is speaking. In Mathew 21:19 Jesus had just cursed the fig tree and and commanded it to die, and in verse 21 He is telling his disciples, "Verily 1 SAY unto you If you have faith and doubt not you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shaîl SAY unto thîs mountain (pro'blems seem like mounitains) be thou remnoved and be thou cast into the sea; it shah be done. "Verse 22" And all things whatsoever you shahl ask in prayer, BELIEVING, you SHALL RECEIVE". A lot of' us are saying what we have instead, of what we want or would like. WE mumble and grumble and complain because we have this, that or the othe.r, but what we don't realize is that we'aregetting exactly what we are saying. Watch what you are saying 'for a few days. You'll be surprised. In Psalm 107:2 'It says, "Let the redeemed of the Lord SAY so, whom He has redeemed (SAVED) from the hand of the enemy (Dcvii). If you are savedl SAY so. Don't keep it to yourself. We are to be teliing people we have been redeemed by the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST. We are to be saying what God SAYS. We are to guard our tongue because it is unruly. James 3 talks about the tongue. Verse 2 says, "For in many things we offend ail. If any man offend not in word (speaking), the samne is a perfect man, and ableto bridle the whiole body." If we are able ton control our tongueand -A hug delights and warms and, charrns, It mnust be why God gave us arms. No need to fret about the sore of em, The more you gîve, the more thiere- are of 'em. So stretch those arms without delay And gîve someone a hug today! -Author Unknown "Take Care!" 1- Peggy - speak life we are in control out Our whole self. Verse 6, "And the tongue in a fire, a world of iniquity: 50 15 the tongue arong our members (other parts of the body) that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of heil." We can send ourselves to hell by what we say. Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue (what you say brings you death or life) and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." You are going to get what you say. It's a law of sowing' and reaping. When you 80W hate you reap hate, when you sow discord you reap disco rd. When you s0w life, you reap life. When you gossip, that's what you reap. The words of Jesus in Matthew 12:37 says, "for by thy words you shall be justified (to show or prove to be just or right), and by they word thouý shallbe condernned (punished)." Jesus is the'only ONE who can help us to get our life righit. Ask HIM into your life today. Commrrents or Questions, Write R.R. 2, Orono. Watch total Christian T.V., Channel 49, Buffalo. Student partners promote reading Last September the Port-Hope High Sehool opened a new idea in assisting students in reading. The idea partners an older student with a younger student who has difficulty in reading. A special room has been setup for the program with tables at which both students can be seated. The session generally lasts for eighty minutes. The Port Hope High School is the only school within the Northumberland Newcastle Board of Education system that has such a program. Book Review from Crystal Pages YouNG LAD)Y RANDOLPH by René Kraus - This book is a brilliant picture of the life and ârnes of Jennie Jerome, thue young American womnan who becamne Europe's First Lady and Winston Churchill's mother. Radiant and beautiful, Lady Randolph was the forernost pohitical hostess of the day, and counted arnong her acquaintanc es Queen Alexand ra, G.B. Shawn and Oscar Wilde. Who worked armn-in-arrn with ber husband in his efforts to rebuild England's social and political structure. She srnoothed the, way for son Winston's future success. It is'said that she "conquered London, with her charmîng and forceful ,American drive." Longrnans, Green and Co., Toronto - Recycled. DEMON SEED by Dean R. Koontz - This book is an experience in total terror unlike anything you've ever read before. Mr. Koontz is reputed to be a grand master of scintillating Sci Fi: and I think the reputation is \vll and highly justîfied. The machine/man/hero refers to himself as a semni-sentient being; he wishes to invade the life of our human lheroine; and hie would like to have a child with her. This is the thrust of the story which encourages the reader to imagine a world wherein a home security system is overtaken by a stronger more intelligent computer "who" aspires to develop the innate emotional aspects of his own being. Intelligent "he" is, in choosing a woman who, because of her' early childhood abuse, is quite a loner. She has few friends who caîl or corne to check on her well- being. SHATI'ERJNG!
