Curtis Robinson scored Orono's lone goal in the 6-1 loss. Tyler Gregg made an admirable effort in bis first lry as goaltender, against the rough Newcastle team. On Friday, December 4th d'e J & M Customn Framing Tykes hosted the second Newcastle teain. this evenly matched gaine becamne the battle of d'e goalies, wid' d'e ~win eventually going to the Newcastle tearn 2-0. The Orono Tykes had numerous rushes on d'e Newcastle net, but they simply couldn't put the pnck past the outstanding goaltender. The Orono goaltender, Kyle Cox, played a very exciting gaine deflecting a puck over the net and only giving up two goals. Honourable mentions go te Tyler Gregg, Jesse Price, Nathan Adegeest and Curtis Robinson wbo each worked bard to make scoring opportunities. Then the J & M Customn Framing Tykes will participate in a hockey tournament in Bewdley on Saturday, December 12th. Everyone is invited to come out and cheer on d'e team. Orono Dufferin Tykes win another win On Friday, December 4th., Orono Dufferin Tykes hosted Tim's Rental in an exhibition Saine. Brian Pisani played a wonderful gaine in et giving bis teain a 8-4 win. Matt Caruana playing anod'er outstanding gaine started Orono off in d'e first period by scoring d'ree, goals, one witb assistance from Matt Mitchell. Bryan Bickell scored d'e final goal, in the first period whicb was unassisteil. Matt Caruana having a strong second and third period scored two more goals in eacb with Evan Moore, Jeff Mercier and Ian Crashley collecting assists. Great gaine boys. Major Plumbing looked like they were suffering the effeets of post-tournament blues as a lack of lustre performance was exhibited as d'e second frame remained scoreless. Hydro continued their inspired, efforts as they took a 2-1 lead with just over 4 minutes remaining as defenceman Todd Bumstead scored unassisted. Major just couldn't get on track and Todd scored again with just 1 second left to secure and give bis team a well deserved 3-1 victory! Defenceman Kevin Francis is d'e player of d'e week. Kevin was born on November 24, 1982. He wears sweater number 15 this year, and is a right shooter. Kevin is anotber 'stay at home' type blueliner wbo is working extra bard on bis skating skills in practice. Kevin bas wbat is known in hockey circles as a 'heavy shot' and bis coaches ame making every effort in practice to have him utilize it in given opportunities. Kevin's favourite hockey star is Montreal Canadien's goalie Patrick Roy. Kevin feels Montreal will win d'e Stanley Cup in 1993. Jeff Siemon sporting # 7 got his first goal of the season at 1:01. Goalie Josh' Brandt held Horners scoreless with many great saves until 1:04 of d'e second period, when d'ey scored their first goal. At 5:25 of the third period on a great shot by D.J. Boardinan, who, got his first goal of the season, unassisted, Orono went ahead 2-1.
