They are wrapped (badly) in crunkled festive papers, held tightly together with yards of tape and trimmed with poorly tied ribbons and bows. The cupboards are anythîng but bare. Brimming, perhaps would be the better word. Cookies, chocolate, candies, chocolate, nuts, chocolate. The turkey is standing by with its parade of other Christmas dinner delights close at hand. Christmas is the ime that we tend to over indulge and let ourselves get away with i. But elsewhterc this Christmas season, there are people wbo will be grateful to find on their plates anytliing that can be spared. The foodbanks do a booming business at thtis season. Soup kitchens and shelters arc esceing hundreds of faces that are looking Iess than joyous on this occasion. And beyond our own back yard, there are thousands more that witl not bc enjoying a hcarty Christmnas dinner.
