Funds in the amaunt of $450,000 have been budgeted for reconstruction and structure widening of Highway 2 - King St E. Simipson Street ta East Saper Creek Bridge in Bowmanville. The funds corne from the Ministry of Transportation . Memorial Hospital Bowmanville will once again be participating in Canada Health Day scheduled for May 12. The Hospital is currently investigating joint activities with local primary schools in the solicitation of posters created by students. They are also looking into distributing thermometers ta patients attending the outpatient areas and other dlinics on May 12. The Hospital bas asked Counicil to officially proclaimn May 12 as being Canada Health day. The local Optimist Clubs are currently in the process of planning a Canada Day celebration te be held again ai Clarke High School. The Club has asked for the Councils approval for this, event and has requested financial assistance.
