Matt Caruana scoring both of the goals with Doug Garlick assisti ng on one of them. This lead the boys onto the "B Division" in the playoffs. -With a week off and no practices 1 think a lot of the boys were hoping that hockey was over, but the parents dragged them eut for one more day of playing which ended up with a lot of happy little faces. Their contenders were Tim's Rentai. Well the game started at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 1993 at the Bowmanville Complex Centre, wîth Tim's being hot and ready to Win they got themseîves on the scoreboard within the first five minutes, and net much after that they slipped another past Orono's goalie Ian Crashley. Orono's Matt Cai-uana started the action at the end of the first te get Oreno enta the scoreboard, but Tim's came right back and scered two more. Bryan Bickell ended the first period with a great pass from defenceman Brian Pisani te end this period with Tim's leading 4-2. At this point the Dufferin beys were not quite sure of themnselves and were struggling ta get the puck at the net, but before the buzzer went te end the second period Matt Caruana scored with a pass from Deug Garlick. This~ -miade them feel a little better going into the third peried with just being one goal down. Tim's collecting a couple of penalties Orono could still not coîlect on them as they were playing a super defensive game. It took to the last two minutes of the gamre when Jeff Mercier scored the tying goal which was well deserved with his many tries he-had made this game. Matt Caruana assisted on this very important goal, but he put the most important one of them aIl in the net with 52 seconds Ieft in the game. The fans were going wild as the boys had finally camne alive to finish the game off with a 5-4 Win. 'Me next game started at 4:00 p.m. and with the Dufferin boys being a little on a high frein their big win in the morning caine eut very strong in the first period with Matt Caruana scoring two goals with Deug Garlick assisting on one of them. Jeff Mercier aise scered with Bryan Bickeil collecting the assist on that one. As the game continued on with Matt Mitchell, Kevin Martin and Brian Pisani playing great defence Orono's geai scorer Matt Caruana kept adding goals ta the board. Matt scored a total of seven goals in this final gamne with Colin Maitland getting two well deserved assists from ail his checking that he was deing, Kevin Martin aIse reciving an assist, Brian Pisani and Andy Bangay aise getting one point each. Evan Moore and Dustin Weagant didn't receive any points this game but both boys had many shots on net, but Tini's goalie even though eight goals got by must have saved another ten or more. Andy Bangay ended his season with a hooking penaity near the end of the game. Also a big congratulations for Ian Crashley as he played anether splendid game in net with making many key saves te, keep bis boys ahead of the game. The final score was 8 - 1 for Dufferin Aggregates which ended their season being "B Chainps." With the season being ended we hope that ail the boys have enjoyed their season, and we hope that their summer is full of excitement and fun.
