Seven applications were received but none carried the qualifications for the job. Mr. Tom Monahan, who has been clerk for Clarke left last Friday for his new position in northern Ontario. Mr. Henry DeWith has been again appointed acting Clerk for the Municipality at a special meeting held on Saturday evening. A Fashion Show and Tea at the Kirby Centennial School was a Most plcasing and delightful event for the many parents and friends of students who were in attendance. Individual tables were set for those in attendance and it was here that tea and cookies were served by the grade seven girls. The grade eight girls wearing apparel was provided by Armstrong's Store, Orono; Toms and Sons and Pauline's Shop, Newcastle; Mulders' and Breslins', Bowmanvile. Tenders for Oul Furnace - Tenders will be received until May 10, 1969 for the installation of a new oil furnace in the Orono Manse. Lowest tender not necessarily accepted. Fire early Thursday morning totally destroyed t-he sugar shack at the Ganaraska Forest Centre.
