There are plenty more lakes to choose from. The road is twisty and scenic and the drive is pleasant. The wind is blowing full in your face and yeu have just put in another tape. Suddenly, tbreugh the trees you sec the patch of blue. Net a sky blue, but a clear, warm lake kind of blue. There is adequate access te ibis Iake but there are toe many people. Se onward again. Seon'though, it is time 10 take a.roadside break. friends and relatives in attendance from as far away as Terra Cotta. Pull the car, i tte little grave] parking lot inî front of the small wooden cabin that'is actually a, miniature store, cobmplotewith the best baked goods and auîbentic native crafts. After a, cool drink and a brownie, we are on fice way again. The road is twistinig ahead of' Li. deeper and deeper nortb. Quaint litile villages slidc by. Rabbits and tbeir woodland friends cross the road abead of you and watcb you curiously from the sido of the road. And thon,.... there il is! Mayor announces resîgnation of Administrator, Larry Kotseff On behaif of the Council of the Muinicipality of Clarington, I would like to advise that Mr. Larry Kotseff has tendered bis resîgnation as Chief Administrative Officer, to be effective September 24th, 1993. Mr. Kotseff bas accepted a position as City Administrator with the City of. New Westminster, within the' Greater Vancouver Regional District in British Columbia. This opportunîty provîdes for the assumption of considerable responsibilities and challenges within a grewing and economically prosperous regional area. In his letter of resignation, Mr. Kotseff indicated that, -'During my, tenure, the Conceils have been increasingly pro-active in their approach and as such as bas enabled the Administration, to develop in a Bowmanville veterin ary president of Ont. College Dr. Everett M . Turner has been elected president of the Ontario College, of Veterinarians of Ontario and will repre.sent the profession in ibis position for tbe nexi year. Diane Hamre Mayor No support» for Hope resolutions The Municipality of Clarington set aside taking any action as reyiested by Hope Townsbip as te their concerns witb the educational system. SHope Township bas asked that Clarington endorse and support a petition of the Ministry of Education te ýcommission a complete assessment of the cost of the educational systemn with the objective to develop a more efficient cost effective education for the pupils. Furtber Hope Township asked that tbe municipaliîy send a letter to the Board of Education that Grant Yeo's position not be filled and that his duties be distibuted to other personnel. As a third request Hope Township sought support in order to obtain job description of administrative staff for public review te insure there is no duplication.' Counc. Ann Dreslinski said the municipality had ne rigbî in interferring in the affairs of the educational system. She said concerned citizens could take their concern directly te the elected board of trustees who are involve'in t he operatien of the educational system. Counc. -David Scott said he could not support the requests of Hope Township and that the Educational systemn was controlled by its own elected trustees. Counc. Mary Novak said she agreed with Counc. Scott. Counc. 0' Toole spoke in support of Hope in, the issue of financing and that this item be separated, from the other two requests. Counc. Hannah -said agreed te dividing the request. Mayor harnre pnior to die vote said she was calling for a recorded vote and spoke against the municipality getting involved inthe affairs of the Board-of Education.
