Tbanks again toa ah who were involved! You lie soup? "Nakina Stuff Soup' submitted by Bob Rotz, recommends lots, of stuff: big chunks of patatoes, big cbunks of turnip, big cbunks of beets, big chunks of cabbage, tbings you don't have ta put in, and absolute advice ta "leave the kitcben sink where il is". Bob tells us to add ta the soup daily..- anything "tbat yau're not gaing ta feed ta tbe dog". Serves dozens and dozens. And, there are somne surprises from aur local politicians. Local Councili or, Dave Scott, bas provided his secret "Formnai Dress(ing)", which I bave sainpled ... MMMMM. 1 have tried on a number of (in)l1ormal occasions wo pinch his secret from bhis pantry, but, alas, have failed . . . 'tii now. Wi-th his politicians' wit, Dave concludes his instruction witb the advice to "toss i all with, abandon, and hope for the best." Mayor Diane Hamire shares with us, "Chicken with Garden Vegetables". Hooterville translation: "Mayor withi Membe-rs of Council". And, Regionai Councillor, Ann Dresiinski gives us "Sex in a Pan". Well, whatever works for you, Ann! Area MPP, Gord Milîs, provides the simplest recipe which takes us the ieast amount of paper (after ail, his ruiing partyis grappiing with the serious issue of excessive waste!). Gord's "Working Man's Beef Soup" is Liberally doused with sherry . . . to duil our senses in these tougb times, 1 expect. He concludes bis three sentences of instructions (who said al poiiticians are verbose?) claiming the soup to be "a nice bowl -and you, are ready for work-." Assuming, of course, that you haven't lost your job to free trade. 1,If these difficuit times are reaily igetting to you, Donna Robins' Great Grandmotbers'I Englisb Panicakes wili start yourday with a quick 'pick-me-up'. Brandy is incl uded . . . you know, for miedicinal purposes. 2 Elva Reid, member of SAGA, weli-known for expressing herseif at community public meetings with lucidity and candor, shares witb us what must be her secret to *good speech . . . "Banana Zucchini Cranberry Bread". Say it twenty- five timnes very fast and you're sure to sound like a pro! The Ganaraska Cookbook pr ovides a host of vegetarian recipes, in ternational recipes, recipes for the inept, and gourmet deiights.
