(Hilda) Tamblyn, Orono were entertained to a Pool'Party and Supper on Saturday, August 21st, at thc home of Wayne and Marilyn (T.) Coons and sons Jeremy and Adam, Schomberg, to celebrate three fifticth birthdays occurring this season, also, 25th and 3th Wedding Anniversaries. Incidentally, the marriage years of the four brothers and sisters add up to a hundred years, this year. Attending this happy family get together were: John & Laurel Tamblyn and their daughter Carnec al of Bowmanville, with hier niece Leah Tamblyn, of Oshawa and friend Warren Beekett, Oshawa-, Ross and Mlichiele Tamblyn, Stittsvîlle; Hilda Tamblyn, Orono; and Gary and Jean (T.) MacDougal and daughters, Sarah and Stephanie, Oshawa. During the August 28th night of racing, the fans were once again treated to two extra Thundercar hecats as this division hias been turning out quite a number of cars over the.last few weeks. The heats were magnificent, with lots o f passing, bumps and grinds, and liard charges. Royce Joncs of Frazervilk and Bob Kish of Os hawa were the unstoppable pair as they eachi won two heals, Darren Hockney of Bowmanville and Derek Henderson of Oshawa were the otherheat winners. In the feature, Royce Joncs once again showed everyone his expert d riving skills as hýe grabbed the win and the celebrated victory lap. Taking second was Scott Double of Scarborough and in thirdl was Darreni Hockney of Bowmanville. In Late Models, there were three different heat winners during the evçning. Takîng # 1 was Bill Northam of Oshawa, grabbi'ng # 2 and $ 3. was Rod Sauderof Port Perry, and winning # 3 was- Glen Waterfall of Kenilworth. In the feature, Vie Auger of Trenton held off the entire field in a close race that saw lots of spins, mad dashes and liard charges to take the win. Following close behind and taking second was Randy Slack of York and Ken Paston of Caledon. In Street Stocks, there were four different winners in thecearly evening heats including Dwight Brown of Willowdale, Duke Paul of Oshawa, Kelly Williams of Inglewood, and Brent Sullivan of Whitby. In the final, three f'amiliar namnes to this speedway came charging back to grab the first, three siots on the podium. Grabbing the win was Andy Warbutton of Oshawa, followed by the Brown brothers of Willowdale, Graham taking second and Dwight taking third.
