Everyone, sbould have words of praise for ail those candidates who have offered themselves up for election. Those that attempt to assume that mantel, and a seat in Ottawa, are looking forward to being maligned at every step of tbe way , regardless of the effort they put forth, once they bave becoine successful. At the Ail Candidates Meet ings there bas already been considerable sniping about tbe pensions and pay, and the life- styles of politicians. It won't get better, in fact it will get worse. Politicians tbese days, are simply seen as free-loaders on the public purse wbose main interest is ego gratification. Personally, 1 know this isn't true, at least for the majority. Anyway, tbe generally low opinion people bave of politicians combine to discourageail but a bandful of brave citizens from ever thinking about seeking public office. I don't know of many people, outside of politics wbo could take the'endless criticism. And take if from me, if the costs of politicians were calculated on a per-hour basis, you would see that we all get good value for our money. Once elected, tbe successful candidate will grapple with a ,ocess, full of stress and frustration. He or She will then be unable to do everything that was promiscd during the campaign. Once this happens they will be called incompetent, lacking any judgement, not listening to the electors and many comments that arc unprintable. More commonly, the explanation for their actions lies in the very limited range of choices that are open. Most cases, in trying to respond to public' expectations Icaves no ch oice other than to pursue multiple objectives. One person's intoleral)le bureaucratie burden is anotliers env ironmrental protectiont, andl s( on. As the Iday approaches when we have to decide wbo te vote for, remnember, that the successfi one will face severe disruptions to their life for the sake of serving us. I tbink we al bave some obligation to show a small measure of trying to understand the issues that our choice will have te deal witb on a regular basis. If we continue to make public ife se unbearable that people shun politics altogether, we will ail be the worse for it, in mny opinion. If you don't eat your vegetables you're not getting any dessert! Sound familiar? Did you know that Vita means Lîfe in Latin? Vitamins are essential to life, they work synergistically witb enzymes to belp regulate chemical reactions that occur continuously within the celIs of our body. Vegetables and fruit are tbe best source of vitamins and they sbould be eaten raw wbenever possible. Over ripeness, exposure to heat and light, destroy tbe' nutrients in veggies.and fruit. Basically'there are two types of vitamins, Water-Soluble wbich must be taken daily, they are the B Complex Vitamins and Vitamin C. Vitamins A, D and E are Fat- Soluble Vitamins and are stored in the body's fat tissues and in the lîver for longer periods of time. If the diet is not adequate in specific vitamins then supplements may be beneficial. Supplements are available in many different forms, combinations and amounts. They are available in isolated forms and in combinations witb other nutrients. Supplements that are not labelled natural may contain, coal tars, starcb, artificial colours, sweeteners, flavours and other additives. Buyers should beware of sucb barmful elements. Nutrients do not occur free in nature, protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerais, enzymes and vitamins are bonded together in very complexed interlaced structures. Therefore taking supplements with meals will supply the missing nutrients needed and will be better assimilated. Source: Available upon request.
