On Tuesday, October 13 the team was away te Barrie and camne home with a 5-2 victery, on Friday, October 16 they hosted Richmond Hill and had an easy 8- 1 win. In Barrie the teain had a tough first period and at the end of one there was ne score. They did however score tbree times i the second with Darryl Cookleading the way with two goals and Ryan Dunnigan chipping in with the other. Mati Staey and Ryan Jobb rounded eut the scoring in the third te make the final score 5-2. Assists went te Jobb (2,) Derek Lange (2), Derek Arnold (2), Nick Hand, Matt Brake, Cery Scott and Cook. Jef Parry in goal played a streng gamne for the Toros. Against Richmond Hill, the 5 against Halminen Homes team dominated from the drop ef the puck, as the final score of 8-1 shows. Onily a momentary lapse by the defence stopped Cameron Millar from getting this third shutout in as many starts. Matt Staley led the way with a 5 point night on 1 goal and 4 assists. Cook had another 2 goal nigbt and Scott also 'had 2 goals. Other scorers with singleswere Tony !Butzr,, Jobb and Arnold. Ass its te Staley (4), Adam Millar (3), Craig Schumacher, Dunnigan, Cook, Scott and Arnold. The coaching staff is doing a good job of moulding this team into a unit that plays well together. In five games te date they have scored 25 goals while only allowing 5 against. The next home game is against Markham at Darlington on Tuesday, October 26th. Report by John Hand Family Auto unbeaten, Witheridge scores late In OMHA Atom Division action Friday, October 16, Orone's Family Auto visited Woodville for a beague match-up. Heading into the game Family Auto was sporting a 3-0 record (includîng pre-season play). Both teaxns camne eut skating bard and -as a result cbecked each other into the ice. Although Oreno held the edge in passing plays, they could only muster 4 shots in tbe first period. Woodville didn't fair mucb botter as the visiters allowed only 2 shots with neither team scering. The middle frame belonged te Woodville as Orono seemed te tire. Winger Ryan Lowe put Woodville on the scoreboard at 5:15 when ho banged in a loose puck in the crease unassisted. Family Auto were outsbot 7-2 in the second poriod. Orono got their second wind in the final framne and pros sed bard te tie it. Midway, througb the perîod it looked like they got the equalizer, but the-goal was disallowed as it was ruled the net became disledged bofore tbe puck crossed the go al ine!!! Witb the dlock winding down andl the face-off deep in Woedville's end, Orono pulled their goalie for a sixth attacker. It paid off as Captain Bob Witheridgo whacked the puck in over a sprawling Woodville goaltender in a wild goal moutb scramble with just 15 seconds left te give bis team a 1-1 tie. Orono outshot the bost team 7-4 in the third which was clearly their bos t period of hockey. Total shots on goal were 13-12 in faveur of Woýodville. Total attendance was 57 (including arena staff)! This year's team looks îoaded wiih potential as tbey skaîed to a reseunding 8 te 2 victory over their opponents from Manvers. Sparked by two goal performances by Mati (aruana, Jamie Rowe and Curtis Robinson, Orono outskated their larger opponents for the opening faceoff ,1e the final wbistle. Single goals by D.J. Boardman and Jesse Gimbleti, Matt Caruana, Kevin Martin, D.J. Boardman and Nathan Adegoest eacb with two and single helpers te Jamie Rowe, Giencoe Hogle and Chris Xirkbride. This victory was a tektn effort from goal out and peints te an optimistic future for the upcomig season. The Major Plumbing Novice, continued their fine play Friday, November 15 at the Orono arena when they hosted the Black Hawks of the Oshawa Little NHL. 'Me Orono boys put on a spiriîed display of passing andý shooting as they totally dominated their smaller opponents frem start te finish, skating te a 14 teo0 victory. Jesse Gimbleti led the scoring parade with four goals. Following close behind in the offensive barrage was Matt Caruana with three goals and two assists and Jamie Rowe with tbree goals and one assist. Collin Curoatz made his presence known te the officiai scorer wih two goals and ihree assists while Bryan Bickell andl Curtis Robinson eacb added one goal and one assist. Tyson Gimnbleut,.Lee Allin and Nathan Adegeest each added two assists teo the total and Glencoe Hogle contributed one assist. The complote team effort put forward in this game was reinforced by strong defensive work of Tyson Gimblett, Le Allin, Glencoe Hogle, Kevin Martin and Nathan Adegeest who combined te allow only one shot on goal to preserve Josh Brandt's first shutouit of the young season. Saturday morning the scene shifted to Oshawa for a gaine against the Bruins of the Little NHL. Once again Orono got off te a flying start on an early goal by Jamie Rowe assisted by Matt Caruana. Matt, Caruana gave Orono a two goal lead assisted by Collin Cureatz and Curtis Robinson at the three minute mark of the game. Oshawa answered that with one goal of their own but Jesse Gimblett got that back before the period ended with an unassisted. goal.» Jesse scored once again in the second period assisted by Curoatz and Robinson but Oshawa came back with two goals in the second including one on a penalty shot to end the period Orono, 4, Oshawa 1. In the third period Orono broke loose for six unanswered goals with four goals by Jesse Gimblett and one each te Bryan Bickeol and Tyson Gimblett. Assists on these wit.h two and single assists to Tyson Gimblett, Jamie Rowe and DJ. Boardman each with two and single assists to Jesse Gimblett and Lee Aflin. This was another strong team effort r esulting in a final score of Orono 10, Oshawa Bruins 3. Sunday afternoon Orono completed a very busy weekend with- their first beague game at Omemee. Orono started the scoring early when Matt Caruana converted a neat pass from Jamie Rowe from bis loft wing position. Orono went up by two goals just twenty-three seconds later with Collin Cureatz scoring on a goal mouth pass from Jesse Gimblett. Omnemee'came back with a goal. midway througb the period but Jesse Gimblett regained the margin before the period e nded with an assist to Jamie Rowe. The strong Omemee teamn fought back valiantly witb tbree straight goals to take the lead early in the third period. After losing the lead Orono might have, been Àlorgiven if tbey had wilted a little but they showed a determined spirit and quickly regainiefrthe lad with three goals in just over a minute. Collin Cureatz once anain converted a fine goal mouth pass from Matt Caruana to draw even. D.J. Boardman then scored twe quick goals on identical plays when lie tipped perfect passes frem JesseGimblett whe had carried the puck deep into the Omomee end along the. boards. It became very tense late- in the gamne as Orono had to kil a two man penalty for over a minute, allowing Omemee just one goal to bring the final score te Orono 6, Omnemee 5. Josh Brandt in the Orono goal deservos a special mention as hoe did everything but stand> on his head te hold Omemee off the score sheet during severai defensive lapses by the Oron4> teim. In Gartner Lee Limited summary and conclusions the report concludes that leachate- contaminated ground water is discharging te Graham Creek through- flow bypassing the leachate centrol system and by infiltration of untreated water. It is 'aIse stated that- the contamination reaches tie Graham Creek from surface soeps contaminâated by leachate or water from RapidIitration Basins. The report also states that information available from reports prepared by Laidlaw's consultants does net provide a comprehensive picture of the degree of leachate contamination te the ground water on the site.
