Twenty-seven Lions and three guests were on hand for a self- catered meal. President Tony Ciemfents called the meeting te order at 7 p.m. with OCanada and Lion's Grace. After dinner Lion Dick Lovekin introduced Anna Bragg as the speaker,, Mrs. Bragg expiained the Advanced Agriculturai Leadership Program with environment and that prior te final plans both the Conservation Authority and the Ministry of Natural Resources would have input as to the plan. It was pointed eut te the meceting that the proposai called for the development of ten acres of land and that a remaining section of 70 acres would be tumned over te the Conservation Authority or the municipaiity. It was aise stated that there was every intention te protect the environment. When the issue came before members of council fellowing the public meeting Councillors Ken Hooper and, John O'Toole moved that'the proposai be denied and that ne furiher action bc taken. Counc. Anne Dreslinski questioned the meve stating that the preponent could apply te -the municipal board and that at this point the municipality would have no input in any decision by the board.
