Admission has been set at $O.00 The theme for the event is "Holistic Health". Green to-day - Healthy Tomorrow. Those wishing te enter a booth in the fair are being asked te have their entry in prior to April lSth. Last Friday'evening the Toastmasters'of Bowmanville held their club competitions to select speakers from the club to compete in the area competition being hosted this year by the Bowmanvile Club. Pictured above are the winning contestants in the three categories: Henry Lise, speaking on Evaluation, Sher Leetooze, speaking in the International category and Fred Archibald, Cobourg bends an ear with Tait Tales. These winners wil speak in the same categories on March 8th. The area involves two clubs other than Bowmanville, Peter- borough and Lindsay. The winners from the March 8th competition will compete in the District competition where again contestants can present their sanie speech as in the previous competitions. Contestants must enter a new speech if they advance past the district competition. Detox decision being left Up to Ministry of Environment Detox Environmental Ltd. with a plant located on Bennett Road in Clarington han revised its application to the Ministry of Environment and Energy elirnin- ating the comnponent of waste processing which had been part of a former application., The firm had made application in 1992 to establish a waste processing and transfer facility on its Bennett Road location. At the time the Town of Newcastle noted that the application conformed to both the Officiai Plan and the Com- prehensive Zonmng By-law. At the tume however the municipality called for a hearing to be held by the Environmental Assessment Board so0 that those in opposition to the plan could air their views. With the withdrawal of the processing operation the committee is recommending that Match & Win event at- Oshawa Ski Hill SAGA (Save The Ganaraska Agaîn) committee with the co- operation of the Oshawa Ski Club are to hold a "Match and Win" Ski event at the hill east of Kirby on March 19th andi 20th.' The event will get underway at 10 a.m. and anyone is entitieti to the request for a hearing under the Environmental Assessment Board bc withdrawn.
