The aftermath of this unfortunate loss led quite naturally to a late night of swimiming, movie-watching, and partying in the Richardson/Oliver hospitality suites, led by the gregarious dance teamn of Steve Richardson and Joanne Barchard. By the following morning, however, the boys were up and ready to face their final opponent of the year, the Welland Tigers. in this, their final game, the B.R.H.L. Optimist Tyke Selects played like the teani that had won 24 games before this one. They skated well, forechecked and moved the puck,. and earned the full 5 points available to the victor. Stephen Cornelisse 'n opened the scoring in thc first period, assisted by Mathew Best and Michael Richardson. On behalf of ail the parents, this writer can assure the Coach that the boys did indeed learn a lot, though l'in sure that such assurance is unnecessary. When the B.R.H.L. Optimist Tyke Selects came together in October, the potential of the team was1 unclear. As the year progres sed, one could see a cohesive unit taking shape as the coaches worked on team concepts.
