The following is the list of executives for the 1994 1995 terni. Officers: 1Past President - June Smith; Thirty-one directors and committee persons met at the Orono Arena on April 18 for the monthly Fair Board Meeting. President Tom Moffat chaired the meeting, welcomed everyone and after the reading of the minutes asked the Secretary, Joyce Boudreau to read the correspondence. 1A letter from the Clarington East Ministerial Association regretting that due to other commitments they would flot be able,to sponsor the Sunday Worshîp Service at the fair this year. They suggested that the Bowmanville Ministerial Association may wish to take on this sponsorship for this year. This possibility to -bc perused by the secretary. -Kathleen Dewell reported that ahi the sponsors, medals and ribbons areci place for the Saddle Horse Show. Susan Dow, committee chairperson reported for the Jumper and Hunter Show. Although she had comne into this position late, she had ail the classes ready for the secretary te enter them in the prize-list. Christie Lomax reported for the fundraising dance to bc held at the OronoArena on May 27, the very popular band, Ambush from the Ottawa area has been hired. The Orono Arena ice surface has been rented to accommodate the large crowd that is expected. Anyone wishing more information may' cal Christie at 983-5554. Gord Robinson is the new chairperson for the Light Horse Show. Gord is adding new classes for American Saddlebred fanciers this year and dropping some of the other classes that have been Iess popular in the ast few years. A workshop for Directors and Coitteiý,e is being set up for Mvay 10 ini dhe Orono Community Centre at the Orono Mrena. Port Hiope Fair Board have shown interest in this workshop as welh. Walter Beath; Giant Book and Yard sale at Clarke Museum Bett Sawyer and Helen Martin of Orono are two of the recent graduates from the Hospice Durham training program. They graduated Tuesday, April 12, after successfuliy cornpleting the eight week long progran.' Hospice Durham has added another 24 trained volunteers to our skilled team of volunteers. The eight1 week training programn was conducted at Bowmanvile Memorial Hospital. The-sessions included Emotional and Community Support, Communication, Transfer Techniques,, and Bereavement. The volunteers from Bowmanville, Courtice, Orono, and Oshawa are now prepared and eager to provide in home support to individuals and their families facing a life threatening illness. Hospice Durham volunteers help families by providing companionship, and may assist with errands, recreation, child care, light meal preparat.ion and, transportation. The presence of a trained volunteer enables the family and caregiver to feel comfortable in taking urne away fromn home. 1Hospice Durham services are available free of charge, and* anyone may make a referral.
