Babies: Birth to One Year (NC)-Experts agree that babies need an assortment of toys. Since infants respond to smell, taste, sound, touch and sight, properly selected toys provide a small baby with opportunities to leamn about size, sbape, sound, texture and how things work. Choose toys that have pieces that are too large to swallow, are lightweight for handling and grasping, have no sharp edges or points, are brightly coloured and are non Ioxic:. Remnember to read the recommended age labels on packages carefully and uise ffhem as a guide when purchasing toys. Brightly coloured, lightweight toys of various textures timulate a baby's senses. For youngL infants, toys to look, at and listen to are best. Tom 's First Fun line is a superb raLnge of brilliant toys that are packed with colourful "thi ngamies" for your growing baby to squeak, squish, rattle, twist and push. Toys such as Tomy's Musical Magie Mirror and Moonlight Serenade com- bine safety, real educational value and plenty of fun.
