Lt was also approved that the chairman be authorized to ward the 1994 contract for Phase I of the study to the lowest quote provided the quotation was within the established budget figure of $37,500. The Authority had submitted a subject file for such a study te the Minister of Natural Resources in 1993. The province at the time gave their approval however the Ganaraska Authority did not have the funds at the time to undertaken the study., With the passmng of the 1994 budget in August thus this year funds were made available by the Authority for their portion of the Phase One cost. The Ministry as well have provided their approval for their funding. Proposals were due on October 21st with the awarding of the contract te be undertaken by the end of the month to allow a start on Phase One as of November lst. Hope Township anti Port 1 Hope has listed a possible tLhree sites in Port Hope that could be considered for permanent waste storage. The report listing the th ree sites is being brought forward only for discussion purposes and was presented te the Port Hope Community Liaison Group recently. Port Hope council about a rnonth ago declared that-the Town could be considered as a host community for the nuclear waste in the Town. -This consideration was given with thie thought that there is a possibiity that Deep River may drop eut as a host community receiving waste for the three lakeshore communiies.
