Tuesday night the teamn travelled to Sunderland for a rfematch of last weeks gaine. Thé coaching staff can't décide-if it was the affect of Halloween the night Mèfre or the smaller ice surface but for some reason the teain quit skaint early on in the game and camne up short on the end of a six to zero score. Sunday evening Orono played the fast Ops squad in Ops and this turne camne up with a much better effort but stili came ùp short on the scoreboard., In this game Orono ran into penalty trouble and couldn't handle the Ops powerplay as it scored four goals on the way to a seven to zero victory. Ops, shooters were in top forin and only strong goaltending prevented a highcr score. On a more positive note the Leafs would like to thank the people of Orono and area for their support in the bottie drive last Saturday. Special thanks to the staff and management of our sponsor, the Donut Gallery as they hosted the teain and parents for donuts and drinks after the drive. It was a fitting end te a most successful day. Thanks once again to everyone. Geraldi Financial Tykes give Skylight Donuts a dunking Hats, off to the Orono Tyke's Geraldi Financial, on yet anothcr win. On Friday, tbey made it three in a row, dunking Skyligbt Donuts 10-0. Jason Geraldi started the scoring off in the first witb a quick shot on net to make it 1-0, Orono Leafs, Doug DeBoo got the key assist. Only minutes later, Josh Flynn slid one by the netininder witb the feed given by Taylor Doyle, making it 2-0. As we ended the first, Jason Geraldi, came across with a sharp , unassisted goal to give Geraldi Financial a 3-0 beadstart. Beginning the second, and Taylor Doyle picks the corner and scores unassisted. Leafs arc up 4- 0. Jaseon Geraldi gets the bat tri ck midway througb tbe second with an unassisted goal to make the score 5-0, Orono. We're stili in the second and Taylor Doyle was rigbt there with a rebound shot off the goalie's pads, the crucial assist courtesy of Josb Flynn. The score is now 6-0, Orono Tykes. -The boys provide a repeat performance witb another goal by Taylor Doyle, and Josb Flynn making the assist, to gather bis tbird point of the gaine. Jonathan Greggý was also credited witb an assist on that play. Tbe final period cornes, and Geraldi Financial are well abead at 7-0, when Ryan Knox adds another n otch to the scoreboard witb a goal, sealing tbe score at 8- 0. Setting up the goal was Jason Geraldi. Stil in the third, Taylor Doyle goes end te end and scores an unassisted goal, bis fourth of the gaine, to make tbe score 9-0. At the end of tie third, Doug DeBoo.gets bis second point of the gaine, this time with an unassisted shot that fooled Skyligbt's goalie. The final score was 10-0 for Geraldi Financial Leafs. Jonathon Koerssen received the shut out, oronos third censecutive shut out of thle season. Contributing te Orono's win witb outstanding defensive structure was Matt Baxter, Ian Knox, Shane Winters and Matthew Bester. Orono's wingers, Zak Snowden and Brien Konopka shared in the big win against Skylight Donuts. Major Plumbing win what counts- On Friday, November 4, 1994 wc thc fans and players travelled to Bewdlcy for a 7:30 gaine. Competition wasn't a lot with Orono's goalie Ian Crashley getting approximately four shots on hum ail nigbt. But the Plumbing gang poundedl away at Bewdley's poor netininder. He kept thein in thc gaine for the first period allowing only 2 goals in. Jordan Beacock was one of those lucky scorers getting bis first goal of the season. But in thc second perîod Jordan scored again. What a performance fromn Jordan for bis grandparcnts who had come to sec the gaine, congratulations Jordan on a good gaine. After this start thc Orono teain continued wo score dcfeating the Bewdley teain 12-0. Neither teain scored in the first two periods of play but finally in the third peiiod Lange's got a lucky break with their player being bit on the stick with a pass just as he stepped out of the penalty box. Orono tried desperately to die up the gaine but ail hopes were dashed when Rob D origo of Lange's scored on a breakaway wîth 1:30 left to play. The game finisbed at 2-0. If not for Scott Sawyer in net for Orono the game would have been an even higher margin of scoring. Congratulations on a good gaine. Now, Saturday morning the boys wer e back in Orono for an exhibition gaine against Whitby. Things were a littie different in this case. Competition they had, this goalie was strong and s0 was the wbole teani. The boys stayed in toucb for the first period with Matt Caruana tying the gaine at the 4:55 mark with assistance froin Bryan Bickell. Whitby scored this goal on their power play when Bryan Bickeil reccived the only penalty of the gaine for body contac t. The second period let loose for Whitby thein scoring 3 more goals on Orono's goalie Ian Crashley but keep in mind he saved the first shot and sbouldn't be expected te save the second and third before it gets in. Orono had opportunities to score but in the second only marked up 1 and this froin a nice three way pass up the ice from Jeff Mercier, to Matt Caruana'and ente the stick of Bryan Bickell. In. the third Matt Caruana scored carly to give Orono fans hope, but hope was al it was. Ibis goal was assisted by Curtis Robinson and Nathan Adcgeest. The final goal for Orono was scored by Bryan Biekel from Curtis Robinson, who had worked bard wo get that puck to Bryan. The power play line of Matt Caruana, Curtis Robinson, Nathan Adegeest, Bryan Bickell and Jeff Mercier was used several fines but neyer collected on their shots. Good gaines boys and better luck ncxt time. The next scheduled gaines are Friday, November il at Orono, gaine fine 7 p.m. against Ops, then Saturday mrning at 9 a.m. in Manvers for a day toumainent. Lange's - Shawn Roffey (0:53) Than again on Thursday the two teams met for the second time, for a rematch on Orono home ice. This turne tbough the score was reversed and Orono came out on top 2-0. Lange's was pushing bard, but Sawyer was stili kicking them out. Finally Maartense was able to put a wrist shot past the Lange's goalie, from just inside die blue line. The score stayed the saine, until Tousignant scored the insurance goal on the empty net, froin Witberidgc and Maartense.
