Game 3 was an exhibition game1 against Newcastle which they won 2-1 on home ice. Orono opened the scoring with #16 D.J. Boardinan scoring from #15 Rick Howe and #3 Chris Bouley in the first period. A 2 on 1 pass and shoot resulted in Newcastle putting one past #30 Jeff, Siemon in net. Rounding out the scoring was #14 Nick Lucyk who scored on a pass from J.P. Pisani and #3 Chris Bouley at 4:36 of the second. The thîrd was scoreless but both goa lies had to corne up big as both teams tried hard to score. Newcastle pulled their goalie at the end of the 3rd, but were unable to put one past Siemon who came up big tâme after turne. Fans Choice for #1 Star - # Chris Bouley. League play resumed on Saturday, October 29 as the team travelled to Bowmanvile to face Ail Canadian Awards. Both teams hit the ice wearing white sweaters which made it interesting with off-sides. Ihe ice was sticky but that didn't 'stop #9 Aaron Robinson from rushing the net. #6 Mike Knapp got the rebound shot and hit the post. #2 Shawn Dejong got his shot away but the goalie just got his stick in the way. Finally at 4:52 #3 Chris Bouley passed to #8 J.P. Pisani who put it away to score for Pine Ridge. The second period had #3O- Jeff Siemon hopping as Pîne Ridge played short handed on a penalty to #3 Bouley. #5 Kevin Pritchard was digging hard along the board and #10 Matt Gregg was solid on the blue line. Late in the second, #7 Jake Bonnetta on a breakaway, scored to put Orono, up 2-O. The third period was al Orono as they put 3 more goals on the board. Scoring at 13:29 was #15 Ricky Howe from #17 John Halik. At 10:26 J.P. Pisani scored hbis second unassisted. Rounding out the scoring was #6 Mike Knapp who scored with 58 seconds left, assisted by #15 Ricky Howe. This game was the second shut out for goalie #30 Jeff Slernon. Orono dominated much of the first period but when called upon #30 Jeff Slemon was ready for the challenge. The first period was scoreless. It looked as if Jeff Slemon would get his 4th shut out but failure to clear the puck out of the zone resulted in Halenda's getting a goal with 1:41 left in the gaine.
