L 6 - Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, November 23, 1994 ) M &--R Paving Bantam's Downed The Orono Bantam's under new sponsorshîp from local paving company Mackie and Reid took a heartbreaking loss to Kool Enterprises last Thursday in Orono with 60 screaming fans looking on. Dawning the new jersey's the new Orono Leafs looked determined and ready to explode. The first period was mostly played in the neutral zone with Orono getting many chances but not being able to capitalize. The second period was ail end to end action. Captain Hentig joined the rush brilliantly following Grant Esler down the ice as Grants pass eluded the defender and roled on to the Hlentigs stick. Hentigs blistering shot bounced off the post and sat on the goal line, only to be brushed away by a Kool defenseman. Kool then struck first at 6:23 of the second on a rebound in front of the net, then scored again one minute later. Guy Tousignant made it close at the end of tie period on a breakaway goal from Esler and Brett Maartense that struck hope deep in the hearts of Orono players and fans. Orono had a barrage of chances in dhe third, a shot off the post of Maartense, a missed breakaway by Tousignant and a missed breakaway by Maartense. The game ended on a tragic note as Tousignant reacted to a late bit from a Kool player. Emotions were flared by the bad non-eall on the interference. Tousignant a game misconduct. The final score was 2-1 Kool Enterprises. He said the' AECB could withdraw a license if they saw that the public health was being affected. TMe speaker refuted the twelve safety concerns that have been written by DNA. On the other hand DNA bas said they are only, in most cases, taking information from qualified established sources. Mr. Domaratzki said the AECB meetings are open to the public and they are willing to listen to all concernis. He said ail concemns expressed by DNA will be deait with individually in a report and that such a report wil be presented to council. He said there are four inspectors on duty at the Darlington plant and a further nine inspectors of the Pickering plant. He also said he was well aware as was th e AECB that the Pickering plant is aging but that this is being addressed in the p rogram of inspections and renewal. He scoffed at the DNA statement that the chance of a Chernobyl in Ontario was One in 17. "We deserve better than that", he said. Domaratzkj said the AECB wants the discussion to be open and public.
