It was beginning to look as if it would neyer happen even though there was a concerted effort following reports of the sighting of wild turkeys along the seventh line of Clarke. The wild turkey bas been an elusive bird as far as Bill bas been concerned and many trips were made out in the country Iast year as well as this year with no results. But as of late a number of reports kept coming in that a flock of wild turkeys were constantly being seen along the seventh line of*Clarke. This called for Sunday trips and as well midweek trips for Bil. A week ago last Tuesday we received a 9 a.m. cail at the office that wild turkeys were la the field south of the seventh at dhe gate to the DeCosta farin. On calling the Bunting home we learned that Bill was patrolling the seventh but we knew that he would be a balf mile east of the site and would have bis eye on the north side of the road where the turkeys had been noted a number of times, Sure enough that was the case and the turkeys were once more elusive. At this point in time Mary Bunting decided it was time that she took part la this adventure of sorts and put everything on track. .So with Bill the twvo made off for the seventh on Thursday and within a few minutes of arriving at the DeCosta gate the flock of over twenty turkeys were sighted. Leave it to a woman to get things straighten out and even things put in order. When Bll now tels about the find and the sighting there is a lack of excîtement. The challenge of the 300th is over and we didn't even pop the cork on a bottle of wine. Just too old for that kind of excitement!
