Tbey look forward to more tasty meetings in the new year! The Environmental Club, under the guidance of Mrs. Page and Mr. Kerr, is once again bosting the Door Decorating Contest for the classes. Points will be given for the use of reusable materials in the design of the door. Doors were judged on December 20. The club bas several projects planned for the niew yéar., The Science Fiction Club has been meeting regularly this fal with Mr. Kerr. Two field trips have been planned for the new year. The members are also involved in the making of a science fiction video. The Yearbook Committee bas been busy collecting the yearbook orders for June. The many eager members have met several times with-Mr. Mack to discuss ideas for making this the best yearbook ever! SCHOOL STORE On October 24, the students of Mrù. Kerr's and Mrs. -McFadden's Special Education 7/8 class opened1 their school store, "The Lair" wo the students of The Pînes. This store gives the students the opportunity to buy school supplies, bot breakfasts, juices and snacks. Students fromn the class who work la the store gala invaluable experience dealing with ahl aspects of money and working with the public.. This Christmnas season The Lair wil be donatiag part of its sale of candy canes to Denise flouse. VOLLEYBALL SThe Pines Panther prowled victoriously once again in volleyball! On November 23 at the Senior toumament, the Grade Eight boys and girls volleyball tearns, under the able coaching of Mr. McKelvey and Mrs. Page, each placed second in their respective divisions. The Grade Seven girls teani, under the fine coaching of Mr. Stephens, won the Gold medal in the Western Tournament on Monday, December 12 at The Pines.
