Clarington Commun ity Justice Programme A sked to consider other options for 10w level waste The head of the Siting Task Force has met with Hope Township asking that the Township consider other options for some of the Welcome Low Level waste that is considered so tow that it is below the Task Forces cean-up mandate. The Task Force said they could save more than $50 million if this particutar waste was flot moved to a possible site in Deep River. It is estimated the project could cost upwards of $200,000 to $300,000 of which Port Hope would have to provide some $66,000. The street is a county street. Laurie and Fred Davis of Hampton and Wayne Lowery of Bowmanvilie were in attendance at the Volunteer Appreciation event of the Clarington Community Justice Programme last week held in the Lions Centre, in Bowmanvile. Laurie and Fred Davis, members of the Durham Animal Adoption organization as well as Wayne Lowery, active in sports in Bowmanvile do assist with the work of the Community Justice Programme. In speaking with Mr. and Mrs. Davis the Animal Adoption group seeks out homes that will adopt animais until such time as a permanent home can be found. Mrs. Davis stated that they have set up an adoption and foster care Equip buses with video cameras, The Peterborough County Board of Education has equipped ahl its 50 buses with video cameras as a means to increase safety and cut down on discipline problems.
