.............e Orono Churches setting sights on the future Lay Reader, Gord Leek and Rev. Bob Hm-rtey at St. Saviours St. Saviour's welcomes you Both the Orono United Church and St. Saviours Anglican Church in Orono are dusting off the welcomne mat and extending invitations to area citizens to take part in their ministry in the community. The two congregations are well established in the community but have been affected by a trend of the times recording a drop in involvement from the citizens of the community. A valiant effort is being made at both churches so as to welcome new inembers and provide a comfortable atmosphere for those who venture out to take part in worship and the activities of the church as it relates to the community and the individual. 1St. Saviour's notes that it is a traditional Anglican Church but are prayerfully and caringly changing their focus to reflect the needs of their people and the time in which we now live. In welcoming new members they want them to feel com- fortable and blessed with the association with the church. Services are held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with commun- ion being the first and third Sundays. Once a month there is a youth oriented service using a more contemporary style of worship but in keeping with the scriptural basis of Anglicanism. The other Sunday involves a service of momning prayer conducted by the Lay Reader, Mr. Gord Leek. Members of the congregation participate as readers at each of die services.
