The Bowmanville Optimist Club bas sponsored the Show and Shine Car Show for the past six years. Orono Horticultural Society Flower Show Resuits Our meeting opened sînging O'Canada with Doreen Lowery playing the piano. Our president Shelley read a poem followed by Flora Sharpe reading the minutes of last meeting. Thie lrea surer's report was read by Shelley in absence of our treasurer Colleen McQuillan. Our garden tour in July was well attended and planters and window box competition was judged that week also. We sold 48 flower bas- kets and raised a total of $280 for Decoration Day at the Cemetery. A thank you card was read from Cliff and Eleanor Terrili for the beautiful 5th Anniversary album they received from the Horticulture Society. Inez Harris and Eleanor and Cliff Terrill were presented with 10 year Certificates for ser- vices over the past 10 years. Next shower is September 28. Flo Sharpe introduced our speaker Joan McWilliam from Pickering arca. Our large crowd really enjoyed Joan demonstrating floral arrangements under water, Halloween etc. she is quite a jolly person. MIl Chappeil thanked the speakerand presented ber with a thank you envelope. Doreen gave the show report and our entries are Up from the same meeting last year.
